Overflow Coffee is excited to welcome a new stunning piece into our space kickstarting Black History Month.

With family roots in Cleveland and Detroit and an art background in painting, drawing and photography, Julius Dorsey is a multi-disciplinary artist and business owner of Chicago Fire Furniture.

On February 4th, 2023 Julius will be unveiling his piece “The Goddess of the Lost Tribe”. This piece was originally going to be about currency. As Julius started researching currency, he began thinking about the things that he believed in and how power was experienced in his life. Julius states, “I didn't know it at the time I made it but it was heavy influenced by the mother of my children, and by extension the power dynamic between black women and men.”
