Expressions through Latin Dance & Drum

  • Overflow Coffee 1449 South Michigan Avenue Chicago, IL, 60605 United States (map)

Soul music is genre-bending and deeply rooted in several art forms including jazz, blues, house, hip hop, and more. From September through December, OAD Productions will highlight various musical genres that have a connection and impact from soul music.

Come join us for an evening of music & movement for our youth! We will learn drumming and dance patterns that celebrate Latin Soul Music & its connection to the African Diaspora. Pizza and beverages will be provided. This event is focused on youth ages K-8th. This event is FREE, but you will need to register via Eventbrite.

This event will also feature The Fame Center, a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing equitable access to arts education so that the next generation has creative tools to uncover their potential and imagine their futures. We are excited to collaborate with them as they share their impact in the city.

This event is sponsored by the City of Chicago's Departmet of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) through the "Chicago Presents" Grant. We are super grateful to the City of Chicago and their support for the arts!
